Save SAPGUI Password

This is NOT recommended by SAP (or me).

By default, you can't save passwords in SAPGUI shortcuts under SAPGUI 7.10. However, if for some reason you would like the passwords to be saved for shortcuts, you could follow the steps below, and edit the (existing) shortcuts to save your passwords.

You will find the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP
exists in the registry once you've installed SAPGUI 7.10
(windows cmd: regedit)

Create the following keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP:
\SAPShortcut\Security

Create a String Value under Security: 'EnablePassword' and set it to 1

This will allow you to save passwords for SAP Shortcuts.

To reset this to 0, run sapshcut.exe without parameters - this will reset the entry to 0.

SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 7.10 CORE Released

Hello & Welcome to my new blog.

SAP released SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 7.10 CORE on the 5th of February 2007, I'm currently running it on Win 2000 and will install it on Microsoft Vista in a few days.

I'll post my experiences with SAPGUI 7.10 here and invite comments from people who have already installed this and have evaluated it during the Beta period.

Hopefully, there won't be many bugs to discuss, but I'll keep this area updated regarding the problems on Vista and the fixes available.

SAPGUI 7.10 is available for the following platforms:
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP
  • Windows 2003 Server
  • Windows Vista
Most importantly this is the only SAPGUI version that supports Microsoft Vista & MS-Office 2007
